Testimonials

IMike Bramalln 2004, I weighed 281 pounds, was trying to deal with a serious health problem, ascites, which also lead to other complications such as breathing problems, and so I finally decided it was time to do something about this.  I made the life-changing decision to see Terry, and I have never looked back. I have been working with Terry at New Day Training ever since and I feel like a different person now.

At 61 years old, I feel like I’m 30 again and in better shape than I was just out of school when I played rugby.  I’ve lost close to 100 pounds, and have better balance, mobility, stamina and sleep.  My golf game has improved from averaging over 100 to consistently shooting in the eighties.  Everyday activities like climbing a flight of stairs or walking the golf course have become easier.  Moreover, I have learned proper eating habits and have quit drinking, which have all contributed to my drastic lifestyle change.  Thank you Terry for setting my life back on track with your health and fitness expertise!

I have been training with New Day for three years now, and I am in the best physical shape of my life.  I feel better than I have in years.  I like the relaxed atmosphere at New Day.   The staff are motivating and understanding, and I would strongly recommend them to patients and friends of mine.

Classes available for those who enjoy the group fitness atmosphere or train on your own. Terry runs a small gym with loads of personal attention. Choose the trainer that matches your personality/style. Your first visit is an interview and in my case there were some old injuries that I was dealing with. I was in a hurry to get fit, but Terry showed me that the best way to make strength gains and have optimal cardio benefits was to take it easy and build a solid base first. We worked on my core, on learning proper form, and making cardio a part of every day. A few months down the road all I can say is what a difference!

Certainly not your usual gym. No oiled up bodybuilders or gym bunnies. Just people serious about getting fit. All age groups represented in here, no matter how young or old.

Lots of attention is paid to individual needs, goals and yes, even limitations, as well as your underlying physiology and nutrition.

If you want to go to a gym and throw weights around, this is not the place for you. But if you want to learn and use modern methods of weight training to build strength and stamina, this is the place. Spin classes, group workouts, Zumba, Yolates, and other activities are on the menu. Cycling outings, golf fitness training, etc, etc.

They have drop ins whenever you like and work out at your own pace.

Water and towels are also available.

Small space and a great bunch of people.

Terry is a personal trainer who understands biomechanics and the uniqueness of each individual’s physical make up. He provided me with a custom program that is designed to improve not only my general physical fitness, it has also reduced my specific (self-called) “tension spots” and improved my posture in a very short period of time. He is engaging, firm when needed, and highly knowledgeable. AND he understands what “limited time” truly means – important for this busy business owner and mother of 2 young kids.

I’d highly recommend Terry for anyone who wants to get back into being physically fit and reintroduce healthy habits.

Gym life has become not just a responsibility, but an addiction of the best kind. I was always terrified of gyms, the smell of sweaty spandex, the ongoing, in-you-face attitude, people who always did it better than I possibly could. Not at New Day. Three times a week, and often more, it’s like coming home—to feel my heart respond to the persistent treadmill, to pull on weights that have built the beginnings of new muscle, to leave each time, satisfied that I have done it right—starting my chores with a New Day smile. Today is the first anniversary of a stroke that pummelled my brain. Thanks to New Day, it is an anniversary that will pass with nothing more than a silly grin. Onward all into 2013, and thank you all.
