Monica has been employed in the fitness industry since 2007. She has a Health and Fitness Certificate from Simon Fraser University, Functional Movement Screening (FMS) Level II and is a qualified BC Sports Aid Specialist in athletic taping and sports first aid. In addition, she is a certified Canadian Fitness Education Services (CFES) Educator and Trainer of Fitness Leaders (TLF) in Fitness Theory, Aquafit, Weight Training, Personal Training, Older Adult, and Osteofit Instructor modules. Currently Monica is on the task force with CFES for revising the current Aquafit manual and writing the new Active Aging manual.
Monica became involved with CFES due to a shared vision to enhance the educational and professional standards of the fitness industry. Monica is passionate about insuring quality education among students and employs various strategies to enhance retention and practical application of the CFES Instructor modules.
Monica also has authored and delivered various workshops to provide knowledge, education and tools to empower the general public to avoid injury, stay fit and remain active.
She continually keeps in touch with industry trends and takes numerous courses throughout the year to be able to provide the best knowledge, skills and techniques when educating or working with others.
On a regular basis, Monica works with clients both on land and in the water to enhance their balance, strength, flexibility, functional movement patterns and neurological connections. Her mission is to provide the tools to empower her clients to take charge of their wellbeing so they can continue to do the things they love to do.
